WEG expands with independent services division

WEG, the global manufacturer of motor and drive systems, has announced the expansion of its services activities with the creation of a dedicated strategic unit designed to operate as an independent service provider. It will, support customers regardless of equipment brand and deliver complete end-to-end industrial solutions. The services division is being coordinated from Portugal, where WEG is providing support across Europe as well as to North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia.

Historically, WEG’s services function operated primarily as a support mechanism to strengthen product sales and enhance customer relationships. However, in response to evolving market demands and increasing expectations around lifecycle support, the company took the strategic decision to establish services as a standalone business activity. The new structure enables WEG to provide spare parts, start-up support, commissioning and technical assistance not only for its own equipment, but also for installations supplied by other manufacturers.

WEG Services is structured around a progressive growth model that begins with support for WEG products, extends to servicing equipment from any manufacturer and ultimately evolves into the delivery of fully integrated solutions tailored to customer needs. The long-term objective is to act as a complete solutions provider, supporting projects from concept through to installation and operation.

With more than six decades of experience, WEG has developed the engineering expertise required to design and manufacture fully integrated component sets while also managing automation, control systems and installation. The new services strategy formalises this capability, enabling WEG to deliver projects ranging from partial system upgrades to complete turnkey solutions.

“We are actively engaging with key regional branches and preparing to support major industrial projects, from infrastructure developments to large-scale energy facilities,” said Andre Possari, HV service director, EMENA, at WEG. “Our goal is to work alongside local organisations as a technical partner, not a competitor. Through access to WEG’s engineering expertise and component portfolio, we are supporting our customers in ensuring the availability of their assets, with reliable and secure operations.”

This new strategic unit reflects WEG’s commitment to long-term customer value, operational reliability and sustainable growth. By strengthening its role as both manufacturer and independent service provider, the company is positioning itself to deliver comprehensive technical solutions that meet the evolving needs of industrial markets worldwide.
