Global leader in industrial automation WEG will exhibit at SPS Italia to showcase its latest developments in industrial drives and intelligent motor control solutions. At Stand C031 in Hall 3, WEG will demonstrate how its latest automation solutions help manufacturers cut energy costs, optimise performance and simplify integration across industrial systems. The event will take place from May 2628 at Fiere di Parma in Parma, Italy.

SPS Italia is a benchmark trade fair for the Italian manufacturing sector dedicated to intelligent, digital and sustainable industries. It acts as a platform for industry professionals to discover emerging trends in areas such as software-defined manufacturing, cybersecurity and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), and to address some of the most pressing challenges in industrial automation.

WEG will present two of its latest high-efficiency motor innovations: the W23 Sync+ and the W80 AXgen. First unveiled in 2023, the W23 Sync+ permanent magnet synchronous reluctance motor (PMSynRM) line delivers both higher efficiency across the entire speed range compared with conventional induction motors and a higher power factor than standard synchronous reluctance motors. Available in a range of sizes, the motor can achieve IE5 efficiency standards even at partial loads. This enables significant energy savings, reduced emissions and helps plant managers and businesses reduce their total cost of ownership (TCO).

Alongside this, WEG will present the W80 AXgen axial flux motor with a space-saving design that offers exceptional performance and reaches efficiencies of up to 96.9 per cent. Designed for demanding industrial applications, the motor’s high torque density and advanced cooling system enable more compact, energy-efficient systems.

“Industrial automation in Italy is growing, driven by digitalisation, Industry 4.0 and the energy transition,” said Marcio Yoshikazu Ematsu, European marketing manager at WEG. “The W23 Sync+ and W80 AXgen reinforce WEG’s commitment to helping industry lower energy consumption and operate more sustainably.”

WEG will also exhibit the TPD500, an AC/DC converter that delivers precise and reliable motor control across demanding applications. Seamlessly integrating into Ethernet-based fieldbus systems, the TPD500 enables remote control and connectivity while maintaining backward compatibility with existing installations.

Visitors to Stand C031 in Hall 3 at SPSItalia can also see the PLC500 programmable logic controller (PLC), built on the globally recognised CODESYS® platform offering high processing capability alongside extensive connectivity. Also on show will be the CFW900 variable speed drive (VSD), designed for compact installation in electrical panels and with inbuilt connectivity, allowing users to monitor drive performance online and optimise maintenance.

WEG will also display its ADV200 high-performance modular drive, which offers scalable integration for complex architectures and demanding applications. Together with WEG’s human-machine interface (HMI) solutions, these technologies highlight WEG’s focus on connected, interoperable platforms.

Attendees will also be able to learn more about WEG’s growing portfolio of digital solutions. This includes WEGSEE+, which allows users to make data-driven decisions to improve their resource efficiency and support sustainability goals, and Motion Fleet Management (MFM), a platform for real-time monitoring and management of motor and drive performance.

“At SPS Italia WEG will connect with companies seeking high-performance solutions to reduce their energy consumption, improve productivity and ensure operational continuity,” added Yoshikazu Ematsu.

“We are highlighting how technologies like our W23 Sync+ and W80 AXgen motors and our suite of digital products can offer tangible benefits such as improved operational efficiency and cost savings, demonstrating our commitment to efficiency, digitalisation and sustainability in the next generation of industrial automation.”
