WEG to unveil W22 Prime to Middle East market at ADIPEC 2026

WEG will showcase its high-efficiency W22 Prime motor as the centrepiece of its stand at ADIPEC 2026. Exhibiting from Hall 11, Stand #11420, WEG will demonstrate its portfolio of electric motors and variable speed drives for oil, gas and energy applications, plus digital solutions and specialist coatings from Heresite. The event takes place from November 1 to 5  at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

Electricity demand in the Middle East and North Africa has tripled since 2000 and is expected to rise a further 50 per cent by 2035, according to the IEA. Improving the efficiency of industrial equipment, including electric motors, will be key to managing this growing demand. At ADIPEC, WEG will highlight the role higher-efficiency motors can play in helping energy-intensive industries improve performance and support their sustainability goals.

The W22 Prime is the latest evolution of WEG’s established W22 induction motor, combining the robustness of the existing platform with IE4 and IE5 efficiency. Designed for new installations and retrofits, it enables industrial operators to improve motor efficiency without major changes to infrastructure.

Its output-to-frame ratio follows EN 50347, allowing IE4 and IE5 models to directly replace lower-efficiency motors of the same frame size. The motor can operate either direct-on-line (DOL) or with a variable speed drive (VSD), providing flexibility across fixed- and variable-speed applications.

Available from 11 kW to 1,000 kW, the W22 Prime covers speeds from 750 to 3,000 rpm and is suited to applications including pumps, compressors and fans. IP55 to IP66 protection is available, making the range suitable for demanding environments, including the high temperatures and dust exposure common across the Middle East.

“Energy efficiency is a growing priority for customers across the Middle East,” said Raphael Torrano, managing director of WEG Middle East. “With efficiency of up to 97.4 per cent, the W22 Prime can help reduce energy consumption and operating costs, while delivering greater value from existing infrastructure.”

Also on display will be the W80 AXgen, WEG’s axial flux motor delivering up to 400 kW and IE5+ efficiency. Its compact, lightweight design and liquid cooling provide high power density for space-constrained industrial applications.

The W51Xdb will also feature, offering up to 800 kW of power in a compact design for demanding oil, gas and petrochemical applications. Available in IE3 and IE4 efficiency classes, it is designed for hazardous and potentially explosive environments where reliability and safety are critical.

Automation and drive technologies

Alongside its motor portfolio, WEG will showcase its range of variable speed drives and automation technologies, including the CFW11, CFW320, CFW500 and CFW900 drives. Designed to improve motor control, efficiency and process performance, the solutions support applications including pumps, fans and compressors across industrial environments.

WEG will also demonstrate its PLC500 automation platform and MT800 operator interface, highlighting how integrated control solutions can help improve operational visibility and productivity.

In addition, WEG will exhibit its range of variable speed drives, demonstrating how precise motor control can improve energy efficiency and performance across applications including pumps, fans and compressors.

Additional exhibits

WEG will also showcase its paints and coatings portfolio, including Heresite protective coatings, designed to protect industrial equipment against corrosion in demanding environments. Heresite coatings provide resistance to aggressive chemicals and corrosive atmospheres, making them particularly relevant to equipment operating in oil, gas and petrochemical facilities.

WEG will showcase its Motion Fleet Management platform, demonstrating how digital monitoring can help industrial operators track equipment performance, identify potential issues and support predictive maintenance strategies. By combining data from motors and drives, the solution helps improve reliability and optimise maintenance planning
