WEG showcases high-efficiency technologies for the water sector

WEG, a leading global manufacturer of industrial equipment, will participate in the Carrefour des Gestions Locales de l’Eau in Rennes, France, on 21–22 January 2026. This major industry gathering, dedicated specifically to water management, provides a platform for showcasing solutions that improve efficiency across the entire water cycle. At stand 60 in hall 5, the company will present its latest high-efficiency technologies tailored for water management professionals, supporting those facing rising energy costs and increasing operational demands.

The main focus at the stand will be the W80 AXgen, WEG’s axial-flux motor designed for compact, high-efficiency performance in industrial applications. With up to 400 kW output and IE5+ efficiency, the W80 AXgen delivers exceptional power density in a smaller, lighter footprint. Its innovative design, supported by advanced thermal management and liquid cooling, offers machine builders greater flexibility while reducing emissions and lifecycle costs, making it a key solution for next-generation electrification.

WEG will also demonstrate its Pump Genius intelligent pump control software, engineered to optimise performance, reduce energy consumption and simplify system management for pumping and treatment operations. The software provides advanced control logic, real-time monitoring and remote system supervision, enabling operators to maintain stable pressure, reduce mechanical stress and extend equipment lifespan.

The company will showcase its W23 Sync+ motors with IE5 and IE6 efficiency levels. Paired with the CFW900 and CFW500 IP66 variable speed drives (VSD), they form an energy-efficient combination designed to optimise motor performance and extend equipment lifespan. Thanks to their high efficiency at partial load, these synchronous motors are particularly well-suited for variable-speed pumping systems widely used across the water sector.

“Both the motors and the variable speed drives can be supplied directly from WEG’s stock in France,” said Loic Kentrotis, marketing manager at WEG France. “This availability currently enables us to cover power ratings from 7.5 to 55 kilowatts (kW), with the IE5 motor range scheduled to be extended up to 132 kW over the coming year, ensuring rapid delivery for critical installations.”

Attendees will meet the WG20 gearbox, a range engineered for efficiency and durability. The gearbox features a compact and modular design, including helical, parallel shaft and helical bevel configurations. It is a reliable solution designed for various industries, including environmental technology.

WEG will also present its complete Motion Drives solution at the stand. This integrated and flexible offering combines motors, gearboxes, drives and digital technologies to support reliable operation across water and wastewater facilities. By providing a fully matched system from a single supplier, Motion Drives helps operators optimise energy efficiency, improve process reliability and simplify system integration in applications such as pumping, treatment, recycling and sludge handling.
