Global manufacturer of motors and drives, WEG France is set to return to CFIA Rennes in 2024. As one of the premier events in the food processing industry, this highly anticipated exhibition is scheduled from March 12 to 14, 2024, at Rennes Parc Expo. Exhibiting from stand 3-A20, WEG France will demonstrate its CFW900 variable speed drive (VSD), W22 motor, WG20 geared motor and a stainless steel panel from the AFW11 cabinet-built frequency inverter line.

CFIA Rennes 2024 serves as a dynamic hub where professionals from the food processing industry converge to explore and showcase the latest advancements in technology and equipment. With a focus on addressing the evolving needs of the agri-food sector, fostering collaboration and driving innovation — CFIA provides a unique opportunity for industry players to exchange ideas, network, and stay abreast of the latest trends shaping food processing.

Against this backdrop, WEG France is poised to spotlight its latest solutions designed to enhance efficiency, reliability and compliance in the food processing segment. Among the key demonstrations will be the CFW900 VSD. This high-performance VSD has a simplified design, increased power density and ease-of-use that allows the user to access configurations and technical data in a fast and simple way. It comes with an advanced energy saving function, high operating ranges, safety functions and increased productivity.

Accompanying this, WEG France will demonstrate a stainless steel panel from the AFW11 line. This cabinet-built frequency inverter is a drive solution for three-phase induction motors, assembled in an electrical panel with built-in CFW11 frequency inverter. In particular, its stainless steel construction makes it an ideal solution for the agri-food industry, ensuring compliance with stringent hygiene standards and cleaning cycles.

In addition, WEG will feature its W22 range of three-phase induction motors at the show. The W22 is designed to offer not only significantly lower energy consumption, but higher reliability, easier maintenance and lower cost of ownership. With a cast iron frame, flexible mounting, solid feet, lower noise levels and operating temperatures, the W22 motors are perfectly suited to food and beverage applications.

Finally, WEG France will show the versatile WG20 geared motor units. These can be supplied in various ratios and powers depending on requirement and can be used in hazardous environments due to ATEX certification. The WG20 series is available in helical, parallel shaft and helical bevel gear designs, offering the perfect gear type for a wide range of applications and installations.

“In the food processing sector, where sustainability and operational efficiency are paramount, the adoption of energy-efficient motors and drives emerges as a crucial strategy for achieving economic and environmental goals,” explained Loic Kentrotis, marketing manager at WEG France.

“For example, in conveyor applications, our CFW900 VSD enables precise control of motor speed, allowing for adjustments based on production demand, ultimately optimising energy usage. By embracing dynamic control and aligning production speed with real-time requirements, this prevents unnecessary energy waste during periods of low demand.”

WEG France invites attendees to explore its technologies at CFIA Rennes 2024, stand 3-A20. The team will be available for consultations and discussions throughout the event.
