Leading motor manufacturer, WEG will attend EMEX 2024, one of the UK’s premier events for net zero and energy management. Taking place at ExCeL London from November 20 to 21, the event will spotlight advancements in technology for energy, sustainability and climate initiatives. WEG will be exhibiting at stand E31, where attendees will have the opportunity to explore the capabilities of the W23 Sync+ ULTRA motor — one of WEG’s most advanced energy-efficient technologies.
EMEX 2024 is designed to address the most pressing issues in energy management, helping organisations navigate the transition towards a low-carbon economy. As businesses and governments ramp up efforts to meet sustainability goals, the event offers an ideal platform to showcase products, solutions and strategies that support energy efficiency and carbon reduction.
With an increasing emphasis on industrial sustainability, WEG’s participation will highlight how its products are helping industries around the world reduce their carbon footprint. At the event, WEG will spotlight the W23 Sync+ motor, a groundbreaking motor designed for high efficiency and reliability. This motor is an example of how WEG is pushing the boundaries of energy efficiency in industrial applications, helping customers achieve significant energy savings without compromising performance.
The W23 Sync+ combines permanent magnet (PM), ferrite or neodymium magnets and synchronous reluctance (SynRM) motor technologies to deliver unparalleled efficiency across all speeds. The key to the W23 Sync+ motor’s exceptional efficiency lies in this PMSynRM technology, which effectively reduces electrical losses through the strategic use of magnets. The W23 Sync+ ULTRA, part of the wider W23 Sync+ family, is the flagship model meeting the anticipated IE6 efficiency level.
“The pursuit of very high efficiency levels, reaching the anticipated IE6 standard, was the driving force behind this innovation,” said Marek Lukaszczyk, European and Middle East marketing manager at WEG. “That is why all W23 Sync+ motors surpass the current European Ecodesign regulation, which stipulates that new motors must meet the IE3 or IE4 standard.
“In addition, the W23 Sync+ motor line unlocks energy savings that directly impact on facilities’ CO2 reductions. In fact, the WEG team has calculated that replacing an IE3 induction 75 kilowatt (kW) 4 pole motor with an IE6 W23 Sync+ ULTRA may result in a reduction of 126 tons of CO2 during the latter motor’s expected lifetime of 25 years.”
Professionals interested in energy management and sustainability are encouraged to visit WEG at stand E31 to learn more about the W23 Sync+ motor and other energy-saving technologies.
