~ Alternators, motors and drives demonstrated at Dubai show ~
Global industrial equipment manufacturer, WEG will exhibit at Middle East Energy 2024. As the region’s largest energy exhibition and conference, the show will serve as a platform for WEG to exhibit its alternator range and introduce the W23 Sync+ motor to the region — a new motor range boasting the highest efficiency rating on the market. Additionally, WEG will showcase drives from the newly inaugurated WEG Automation Europe business unit. The event will take place from April 16 to 18 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, with WEG occupying stand S3.B51.
Middle East Energy coincides with a period of rapid expansion for WEG’s alternator business unit, which has experienced significant growth in turnover. WEG has already established a strong presence for its alternator business in the UK, Europe, and North Africa. This event offers WEG an opportunity to demonstrate the competitive advantages of its alternators to the Middle East market.
At the event, WEG will showcase products from the GTA and AG10 alternator lines. All alternators in these ranges are equipped with the WEG IPMG auxiliary winding, allowing for a short-circuit condition of up to three times the full load current for ten seconds, positioning these models against premium competitors in the market. All WEG alternators also feature a damper winding as standard and are furnished with permanent magnet inserts in the Exciter stator. This ensures guaranteed excitation on startup and eliminates reliance on residual magnetism — this feature is an optional extra among competitors, but comes as standard from WEG.
The GTA Line features a rolled steel frame using a thick grade of steel to ensure durability, while the AG10 Line uses a cast iron frame for improved thermal dynamics, reduced vibration, and a robust design and construction. The alternators on display at Middle East Energy are the GTA201AIHE (70KVA), GTA251AIHD (140KVA), and AG10250SI20AI (250KVA).
“Similar to WEG’s motor ranges, our alternators undergo a vertical manufacturing process,” explained Manoj Kakaya, sales manager for the alternator business, high voltage solutions for Europe and the Middle East at WEG. “We manufacture our own varnish, wires, enamels, castings and other components, ensuring the highest manufacturing standards. This also enhances our delivery times, as we are not reliant on external sources and third parties.”
In addition to alternators, WEG will present a selection of motors at the event, including the newly launched W23 Sync+ and W23 Sync+ ULTRA. Featuring cutting-edge technology, this new family of electric motors boasts the highest efficiency rating on the market, with W23 Sync+ motors achieving the European standard ultra-premium IE5 rating and the W23 Sync+ ULTRA reaching IE6.
“The W23 Sync+ range represents a significant advancement in energy efficiency,” stated Marek Lukaszczyk, marketing manager for Europe and the Middle East at WEG. “High-efficiency motors play a crucial role in reducing emissions and achieving decarbonisation goals. For businesses aiming to enhance their efficiency and sustainability, IE6-rated motors can make a substantial difference.”
The W22 motor will also be on display. The W22 range of three-phase induction motors from WEG are designed to significantly lower energy consumption. Additionally, WEG will demonstrate the WG20 gearbox. The full WG20 range includes helical geared, helical bevel and parallel shaft geared motors.
WEG will also show a number of drives from the CFW range, including the CFW100, CFW300, CFW500 and CFW900 models. The ADL500 inverter for elevator applications will also be on display, alongside the ADV200-SP drive. This solar-powered pump drive uses PV technology to convert electrical energy into mechanical power, further improving the efficiency of pumping operations. Finally, the SSW7000 series of soft starter technology from WEG.
The product exhibits will be accompanied by a demonstration unit of WEG’s Motion Fleet Management (MFM) platform. MFM is a remote monitoring tool that encompasses motors, gearboxes, drives and other industrial assets. The intelligent system provides a way of overseeing the performance of assets in complex industrial fleets.
The full range of WEG products will be demonstrated at Middle East Energy Dubai at stand S3.B51. For more information on the products mentioned please visit www.weg.net.
